Created in 2013 I AM CAMEROON is a movement with a mission to inspire, educate and engage Cameroonians to accept and assume responsibility for the development of Cameroon. The organization is non-partisan and apolitical.
With a vision of development and improving quality of life, I Am Cameroon proudly presents the Sweat It Off, Save a Life, fitness challenge. This campaign launched by the Cameroonian Diaspora, has an objective to raise $50,000 to procure and distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers in Cameroon who, put their lives on the line daily in the fight against COVID-19(Corona Virus).
COVID-19 (Corona Virus) is an equal opportunity infectious disease. It affects people indiscriminately. It knows no boundaries, ethics, linguistics, or religious background. However, we know, that it most often has terminal effects on the vulnerable/exposed such as healthcare personnel, people with pre-existing conditions, essential workers, the elderly and less privileged.
Motivated by the desire to equally impact the vulnerable population in the country, the Cameroonian Diaspora under the banner of “I Am Cameroon” are uniting individuals, families, associations and well-wishers to participate in this fun filled challenge that will last through the month of October 2020, with the main event scheduled for Saturday October 31, 2020.
This movement seeks to unite Cameroonians to work towards common goals for the improvement of the livelihood of its people. I Am Cameroon is only a facilitator of the Sweat It Off, Save A Life fitness challenge and invites Cameroonians of all origins and non-Cameroonians to take part in this campaign, to achieve our noble objectives, protect healthcare workers, promote a healthy lifestyle, create awareness and build resilience in the Cameroonian society.
